Refresher Training for Peer Evaluation Team Members authorized in Testing, Medical Examinations, and Proficiency Testing Providers

EA held a Refresher Training for Team Members authorized in Testing (EN ISO/IEC 17025), Medical Examinations (EN ISO 15189), and Proficiency Testing Providers (EN ISO/IEC 17043) on 28 and 29 October 2026, remotely.

Regular refresher training sessions are crucial for strengthening the EA peer evaluation system, as they provide an opportunity to enhance the harmonization of evaluators’ work and perspectives on specific issues in the peer-evaluation process.

23 participants from National Accreditation Bodies (NABs) participated in the training led by Torsten Augustin (DAkkS, the German NAB), Sergio Guzzi (ACCREDIA, the Italian NAB), Hélène Mehay (COFRAC, the French NAB), and Ankica Barišić (EA).

A few words from Sergio Guzzi, trainer for PTP:

It was a two-day remote refresher training on Testing, Medical, and PTP peer evaluation, with 23 team members contributing, each freely sharing their experience with colleagues.

The training focused on ISO/IEC 17011 and hot topics, aiming to update peer evaluators and improve harmonisation.

The discussions covered, among others:

  • Multilateral Agreement Council (MAC) focus points;
  • Breakout sessions, debates and working group activities;
  • Practical aspects of the peer evaluation process (from preparation to sampling, writing findings, and reporting).
