Almost 200 participants attended the first workshop organized by EA for its members on AI and its use by National Accreditation Bodies (NABs) on 9 October 2025.
Dr. Marian Risse, from Cassini Consulting, covered the following topics:
- AI hype cycles;
- Using Generative AI in the accreditation tasks;
- Which tasks can be automated, and what shall be controlled by a human?
- How AI will change NABs’ way of working;
- The agent revolution: AI frameworks act as decision makers;
- AI workflows and implications for the accreditation process.
Then, Uwe Halstenbach (TÜV International GmbH) and Simon Wels (TÜV Rheinland AG) presented how, as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB), they implemented AI as an assistant for low-risk tasks, that is not involved in the decision-making process. They also shared their vision for the evolution of AI use in their CAB, keeping in mind the importance of humans having the final say.
