The EA MLA Mark is now registered in all EA MLA member countries

As of 19 June 2026, the mark has been registered in all EA MLA member countries1, and a new EA-3/01 Supplement 3 for Switzerland has been published.

The EA MLA Mark is a collective European and international mark that reflects a shared commitment by all National Accreditation Bodies signatories to the EA Multilateral Agreement (MLA) to competence, transparency, harmonisation, and the specific role and value of the European Accreditation system.

It shows that a Conformity Assessment Body has been accredited by a National Accreditation Body that is signatory to the EA MLA, and that this accreditation is equivalent and reliable across all EA member countries.

This mark demonstrates that the National Accreditation Body is regularly peer evaluated, that the accreditation is performed to internationally agreed standards and legislations (if applicable), and that the accredited Conformity Assessment Body operates competently and impartially.

This builds confidence for regulators, customers, and markets.

It can be used by:

  • The NABs, if they are a signatory of the EA MLA, and always in combination with their own mark according to EA-3/01 S1 or EA-3/01 S2 for the United Kingdom or EA-3/01 S3 for Switzerland;
  • EA itself, in all its communications;
  • The CABs accredited by a NAB signatory of the EA MLA, always in combination with the accreditation mark, and according to the rules published by the NAB.
