Congratulations to DPA, the General Directorate of Accreditation in Albania, which has become the 36th EA Full Member.

The national accreditation body (NAB) of Albania, DPA, which had been an Associate Member of EA since November 2011 before Contracts of Cooperation with EA were concluded in January 2012, applied for EA Full Membership on 30 January 2015.

DPA’s application was reviewed by the EA MAC Secretary and Management Group, which judged it as satisfactorily fulfilling all the requirements set out in EA-1/17-S1 2014: EA Criteria for Membership. As a result, DPA’s application was supported by the EA Multilateral Agreement Council (MAC) at its meeting held on 22-23 April 2015 and the EA General Assembly adopted following EA Resolution 2015 (35) 04 on 27-28 May 2015:

The General Assembly endorses the recommendation made by the EA MLA Council that DPA, the national accreditation body of Albania, which is currently an Associate Member of EA, becomes a Full Member of EA as a result of Albania being identified as a candidate country by the EU as of 24 June 2014.

Armond Halebi, the DPA Director (sitting on the right side of our picture; the EA Chair, Thomas Facklam, is standing beside him), signed the EA Full Membership agreement during the EA General Assembly meeting which took place in Athens.

The ongoing peer-evaluation of DAP is now aiming to accept the NAB of Albania as an EA MLA signatory.
