Further to the retirement at the end of October of Daniel Pierre who had been taking on this position since Cofrac was founded in 1994, Bernard Doroszczuk has joined COFRAC as Director-General on 1 November 2013.

Bernard Doroszczuk is an engineer of Corps des Mines, the French national mining and geological service.

Until the end of August 2013, he was Regional Environment and Energy Director (DRIEE) in the Ile-de-France region, covering the Seine-Normandy basin. He also served as a regional delegate for the Ile-de-France region of the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN).
Before that, he occupied various management and steering roles in central government in the fields of security, environment, nuclear safety and metrology. In the 1990s, he spent eight years with Bureau Veritas, working in industrial inspection and management systems certification.

Whether it is at a central or regional level, in the private or public sector, Bernard Doroszczuk’s professional life has always been focussing on safety, security, health, environment protection and field work related to hazardous installations in public areas or work premises. He was already closely involved in control, testing, inspection and certification practices for assessing conformity with national and European standards and regulations.
