The Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQs) answered by the EA Certification Committee (CC) are now available on the EA website.

Every EA technical committee manages FAQs on the application of those specific standards which they are in charge of. Questions are submitted by committees’ Members before the committees’ meetings, at which they are discussed and answered.

Due to an increasing number of submitted questions, the FAQs process within the EACC had to become more elaborate in order for a maximum of questions to be answered within the allotted meeting time. An EACC Review Panel, consisted of a half-dozen people including a convener, has been set up to give each question a preliminary answer to be approved by the whole of EACC Members at the forthcoming meeting. Only most difficult or still open questions are discussed before a common view can be achieved. For sake of efficiency, Members should send their questions to the EACC Review Panel (through the EACC Secretariat) about one month in advance of each meeting; the full set of questions is first shared out among the Panel members according to their own best expertise, and then reviewed by the whole Panel.

As agreed by the EACC and EA Executive Committee, and further to a thorough revision and fine-tuning, EACC FAQs have been published on the EA website, section Publications, at www.european-accreditation.org/faq

The series available on the EA website encloses the FAQs discussed as from the EACC meeting held in September 2016. It is deemed to be updated after each meeting of the Committee.

The EACC draws readers’ careful attention on the fact that the answers, which give the consensus view of the Committee, are intended for informational purposes and should not be used as official guidance for the implementation of the requirements of the standards concerned.

The EA Laboratory (LC) and Horizontal Harmonisation (HHC) Committees are also thinking about revising and publishing their own FAQs in a near future.
