On 19-20 November 2014, the EA General Assembly endorsed the decision of the EA Executive Committee to offer the EA Recognised Stakeholder status to the European Electrical Products Certification Association (EEPCA).
Through EA Resolution 2014 (34) 08 adopted at the last EA General Assembly in The Hague, Netherlands, EA has decided to enter into an agreement with EEPCA in accordance with EA-1/15: EA Policy for Relations with Stakeholders.
EEPCA is the professional organisation of European Certification Bodies delivering certification and other third party conformity assessment services. Its mission consists in promoting effective and reliable certification services to ensure compliance with European mandatory and voluntary standards.
EEPCA acknowledges EA’s important contribution to the improvement of the effectiveness and reliability of product certification in Europe and worldwide.
EEPCA members operate voluntary certification schemes such as HAR and ENEC according to the principles and rules of accreditation as represented by EA. Based on the historical and important role held by electrical certification in the European economy and society, EEPCA is able to provide a significant contribution to the best development of the accreditation rules and practices.
As a member of the Conformity Assessment Bodies (CAB) College of the EA Advisory Board, EEPCA participated in the last EAAB meeting on 22 October 2014, at which Pierre de Ruvo, the EEPCA General Secretary, replaced the CAB College member from EUROCER Building.
