EA is already recognized under the main scope ISO/IEC 17021-1 for the sub-scopes Quality Manage-ment Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and applied for extension of the MLA for Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), Medical Devices Management System (MDMS) and Energy. Management Systems (EnMS) in 2017. The IAF MLA Management Committee approved at its meeting in Frankfurt on 5th April 2018 the EA scope extension.
With the recognition of EA, the EA members, which have applied for the sub-scopes to EA, are now automatically signatories for these sub-scopes by IAF. During the peer evaluations, the National Accreditation Bodies demonstrate their compliance with the relevant requirements set out for the specific scopes.
