On 12 and 13 November 2015, the Belgium NAB, BELAC, hosted in their offices (picture) a MAC Refresher Training for Team Members in the fields of accreditation of calibration and testing.
This 2-day training gathered 20 participants from 16 national accreditation bodies (NABs). The training course was led by Cecilie Laake from the Norwegian NAB (NA) and Nicole Van Laethem from the Belgium NAB (BELAC).
The training targeted EA peer-evaluators qualified in the areas of accreditation of testing, including medical testing, and calibration. The aim of this training, based on both presentations and group work, was to share and harmonise knowledge and practises of EA peer-evaluators in those fields.
The training focused on the following two points:
1) Critical issues for the accreditation of laboratories (calibration, testing, medical) that Team Members should pay special attention to.
2) The evaluation process :
o Preparation and document review
o Office assessment and file review
o Witness assessments
o Findings
o Preparation of the final report
The positive feedback received by the training participants showed that all their expectations have been met.
The next EA MAC Refresher Training, aimed this time at Team Leaders and Deputy Team Leaders, will take place on 14 and 15 December 2015, in Brussels again.
