As a partner organisation, EA is actively participating in the 17th Congress of International Metrology to be held on 21-24 September 2015 in Paris. EA is not only a member of the organising committee, but also a co-facilitator of a round table entitled Agrifood: metrological advantage.

Co-organised with ENOVA Paris, the major exhibition and event of reference for technologies in Electronic, Measurement, Vision and Optic, the 17th Congress of International Metrology (CIM) will bring together all the actors of the metrology world, i.e. industrial users of measurement tools, technical experts, laboratories, manufacturers and services providers, in order to explore the current development in measurement techniques, R&D breakthroughs and their implication in industry. This congress will demonstrate how measurement can improve, on a day-by-day basis, industrial processes and risk management.

In 2015, the CIM will focus on risk management, energy transition and healthcare. It will also cover other major issues such as analysis and testing, uncertainty, cost optimization, nanotechnologies and soft metrology. To get further detail about the programme, please visit the CIM 2015 website at:

EA to play an active role in a round table dedicated to agrifood

Metrology in agrifood industry is a trump card for security, quality and profitability of the company. In complement to its regulatory requirements, the metrology function is proactive to prevent the products marketing unfit for consumption or harmful to the company’s image. The product quality is also optimized by an appropriate control of manufacturing process. The CIM 2015 debates will tackle key questions such as the improvement of manufacturing processes, the packaging and product evolution, and the control of contaminations.

Ioannis Sitaras (on the homepage picture), Director of the Laboratories Accreditation Division in ESYD, the Greek national accreditation body, and convener of the technical network “Food and Feed” of the EA Laboratory Committee, will be one of the key speakers of the round table to take place on Thursday 24 September 2015.
