The General Assemblies of IAF and ILAC were held in Singapore from 28 to 31 October 2018 and EA is pleased to announce the following decisions.

AFRAC becomes a new Regional Accreditation group signatory – Main Scope: Management Systems Certification – ISO/IEC 17021-1; Sub-Scope: Level 4: ISO/IEC 17021-3, ISO/IEC 17021-2; Sub-Scopes:
Level 5: ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
Furthermore, AFRAC mutual recognition agreement (MRA) is recognized by ILAC for the accreditation of calibration and testing (ISO/IEC 17025), medical testing (ISO 15189) and inspection (ISO/IEC 17020).

EA MLA signatories join the IAF MLA:

  • BSCA Belarus – Main Scope: Product Certification – ISO/IEC 17065; Main Scope: Management Systems Certification – ISO/IEC 17021-1; Main Scope: Certification of Persons – ISO/IEC 17024; Sub-Scopes: Level 4: ISO/TS 22003, ISO/IEC 17021-3, ISO/IEC 17021-2, ISO/IEC 27006, ISO 50003; Sub-Scopes: Level 5: ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 13485, ISO 50001 (EA)
  • DPA Albania – Main Scope: Management Systems Certification – ISO/IEC 17021-1; Sub-Scopes: Level 4: ISO/TS 22003, ISO/IEC 17021-3, ISO/IEC 17021-2, ISO/IEC 27006, ISO 50003; Sub-Scopes: Level 5: ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 13485, ISO 50001 (EA)

EA MLA scope of recognition at global level is extended with the decision by IAF to accept EA for the main scope Validation and Verification – ISO 14065; Sub-Scopes: Level 4: ISO/TS 22003, ISO/IEC 27006, ISO 50003; Sub-Scopes: Level 5: ISO 22000, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 50001, ISO 13485, FAMI-QS Certification Scheme, IPC-PL-11-006 and by ILAC for extension for Proficiency Testing provider (ISO/IEC17043). EA is the first regional group to be recognized for the scope. The decision concerning EA will not be implemented until a second regional group has been accepted for this scope.

EA congratulates Emanuele Riva (ACCREDIA), currently seating on the EA Executive Committee, elected as IAF Vice-Chair for a second and final three-year term and Norman Brunner, currently seating on the EA MLA Council management group, elected as IAF MLA Committee Chair for a second and final three-year term.

EA MLA and BLA signatories join the ILAC Arrangement for the accreditation scopes listed:

  • Drejtoria e Përgjithshme e Akreditimit (DPA, MLA), Albania, extension for inspection (ISO/IEC 17020)
  • Belarusian State Centre for Accreditation (BSCA, BLA), Republic of Belarus, testing (ISO/IEC 17025) and calibration (ISO/IEC 17025)
  • Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau (LA, MLA), Lithuania -and new member of ILAC-, calibration (ISO/IEC 17025), testing (ISO/IEC 17025), medical testing (ISO 15189) and inspection (ISO/IEC 17020).
  • Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS, MLA), Switzerland, extension for inspection (ISO/IEC 17020)
