The 31st EA General Assembly was the last meeting attended by Daniel Pierre, General Director of the French National Accreditation Body – COFRAC, who announced he would step down and retire by the end of the year. Daniel received many well deserved accolades during this General Assembly.

Graham Talbot, the former EA Chairman who stepped down at the end of 2012, forwarded a warm message to Daniel, stressing how EA had been fortunate to have him in key positions of leadership over many years. Daniel’s experience, ideas and energy have been pivotal in shaping and taking forward the major developmental changes faced by EA. His ability to influence colleagues and steer a mutually beneficial course has enabled EA to become stronger and to remain cohesive whilst growing and taking on new roles.

Started before 2000 with key positions in EAC, Daniel’s career in the accreditation community was praised by Thomas Facklam, the current EA Chairman who pointed to the time shared with Daniel in EAC, EA and ILAC and IAF.

We all thank Daniel and wish him the best for his new life beyond that of accreditation later in the year!
