EA held the second session of its workshop series on Artificial Intelligence and its use by National Accreditation Bodies (NABs) on the 30th October 2025, bringing together 170 participants from EA Members. The event highlighted concrete experiences, operational insights, and ongoing digital transformation efforts within several NABs.
The workshop opened with a presentation from Gundega Jaunbērziņa-Beitika, Director of LATAK, the Latvian NAB. She emphasised the growing importance of artificial intelligence in LATAK’s internal processes and day-to-day functioning. Through practical examples, data, and good practices, she demonstrated how AI tools are already contributing to strengthened quality, improved efficiency, and enhanced decision-making in accreditation activities.
The workshop then continued with insights from ISAC, the Icelandic NAB. Örn Alexandersson, Lead Assessor, presented ISAC’s experience in adopting AI approaches to support assessment work and optimise information management.
To conclude, İhsan Emre Bilici, Manager of Assessors, Training, and Projects at TÜRKAK, the Turkish NAB, outlined the organization’s broader digitalization process, including the integration of AI applications in accreditation workflows and the development of human-oriented decision mechanisms.
