The 40th Meeting of the EA Advisory Board took place on Wednesday 17 October 2018 in Brussels (Belgium) in EFTA offices. It was the occasion to elect a new EA Advisory Board as the current Board mandate came to an end after three years.

The EAAB gives continuous support to EA and provides advice to EA on a broad range of issues; it is a focal point for discussion, consultation, guidance on and input to policy and strategy matters related to the operation of accreditation. The Board’s composition reflects a well-balanced representation of the parties which rely on and contribute to the European Accreditation system. It is also the main forum for all the stakeholders of EA and the main channel for stakeholders to effectively interact with EA.

As a result of the elections, EA is very happy to announce that:

  • Mrs Maureen LOGGHE (National Authorities College – FPS Economy of Belgium) was elected as new Chair. She will succeed to Michael NITSCHE (BAM, Germany). Thanks to Michael for the successful work and welcome to Maureen!
  • Christian PRILLER (CAB college – CEOC International) and Martin STADLER (industry college – SIEMENS) were elected as Vice-Chairs for a 3rd term.

Moreover, at its last meeting on 3 May 2018, the EAAB decided to grant one additional seat within the Board to those European private scheme owners that are also EA Recognised Stakeholders. This new position will be held by FAMI-QS Asbl, an EA Recognized Stakeholder since June 2013, represented by Emmanuel GENEIATAKIS, who was previously involved in EA Horizontal and Harmonization Committees.
